ShiftForce

Customer Success Specialist

ShiftForce is a Versailles-based software company serving restaurants and hotels across the country. We're hiring one in-office person — Tuesday through Saturday, 25-30 hours a week, $20/hr to start with real room to grow.

How to apply below:

  • Who we're looking for

Someone who came up in hospitality — restaurants, hotels, banquets, catering, events, resorts — and has a natural instinct for taking care of people and closing deals. You're optimistic, high-energy, good with computers, and you use AI tools to make yourself better at what you do.

You'd start out helping our existing customers, and grow into leading new customer onboarding and eventually sales conversations. Performance here creates real opportunity — including a path to higher pay as you take on more.

    Why your hospitality background matters

When a 15-location restaurant group calls with a scheduling problem, you already know what a GM's Saturday night looks like. When a hotel F&B director asks how to configure shift handoff, you've been in their shoes. Our customers are hospitality operators — they trust other hospitality operators. That's the edge this role gives you, and the reason we're looking specifically for this profile.

    What you'll actually do

Months 1–3: Support + learn the platform

    • Help existing customers by email, chat, and screen share
    • Use AI tools daily (Claude, ChatGPT) to draft responses faster and research smarter
    • Shadow the CEO on customer setup calls and sales demos
    • Set up new customer accounts from a checklist we'll train you on

Months 3–6: Take the wheel on new customer onboarding

    • Lead setup and configuration calls with new customers on your own
    • Handle inbound trial requests end-to-end
    • Build real relationships with customers you own

Months 6–12: Own customer success + influence sales

    • Primary owner of onboarding across most new customers
    • Handle inbound sales conversations for smaller deals
    • Identify expansion opportunities in existing accounts
    • Earn your way into real growth with real upside

    Must-haves

    • Hospitality background. Restaurants, hotels, resorts, catering, events — any of it
    • Sales instinct. You've done sales or you know you'd be good at it
    • Optimistic, high-energy personality. This job is talking with people all day
    • Comfortable with computers and software. You've picked up multiple systems before and you learn fast
    • Uses AI regularly. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — you use it to draft, research, and get better. Not optional
    • Screen shares confidently. Zoom, Google Meet, Loom — you've done it
    • Self-starter. Small team, no one micromanaging — you own your outcomes
    • Strong written English and professional voice
    • Saturday availability (AI handles routine tickets; you handle what matters)
    • Willing to commute to our Versailles office Tuesday through Saturday

    Nice to have

    • Multi-unit hospitality experience
    • Prior software or SaaS exposure
    • HubSpot, Salesforce, or any CRM familiarity

    Not required

    • SQL, coding, or technical background (we'll teach you)
    • Enterprise sales experience
    • College degree

    Compensation and schedule

    • Starting pay: $20/hr
    • Reviews at 6 and 12 months as you take on more responsibility
    • Beyond year one: As you move into sales conversations, we'll build a performance-based bonus structure. Hospitality sellers who perform at ShiftForce will make materially more than hourly suggests
    • Hours: 25-30/week
    • Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday. Sundays and Mondays off
    • Location: In our Versailles, MO office

How to apply

Two steps. Both required.

Step 1 — Email me:

  • To: matt@shiftnote.com
  • Subject: Customer Success Application
  • Body: A short note (three paragraphs max) telling us:
  1. What hospitality background you come from
  2. Why you'd be good at this job
  3. One specific example of a time you took care of a difficult customer or closed a sale you weren't sure you'd close

Step 2 — Record a short screen-share video (3–5 minutes):

Use Loom (free at loom.com), Zoom, or any screen recorder. Show and talk through:

  1. Navigate a website you use regularly — show your screen and explain what you're doing
  2. Pitch us something you love — a restaurant, a hotel, a product, anywhere. 60 seconds. Sell it to us
  3. Describe how you've used an AI tool — specifically, not vaguely

Send the video link in your email.

We know this is different from a normal application. It's on purpose. This job is about communicating, screen sharing, selling, and using technology — so show us you can do it.
